My last memory of Carmen..... / Kathy Dravland (friend and coworker)
My last memory of Carmen.
She was sitting at her desk listening to her son Dave on the radio. She was laughing and blushing!

I am so grateful to have known her.

She was a kind and gentle woman who left those around her wiser, happier and more peaceful.
The song that was sung at her memorial "If you could see me now" sounded so much like something Carmen would say......
We can almost hear her laughing........

my loss is heaven's gain / Amanda Lindholm (dear friend)
This website is a precious tribute to a lovely and special woman. Thanks David and Laura. Harold, Tina, David and Laura, Carmen and I as you know were friends for almost 30 years. It is such agift to find a true friend in one's lifetime, and Carmen was that to me. She was a confidante, atravelling companion(sometimes when she didnot really want to,altho, I fed her well ), a fellow mischief maker, shopping partner, prayer partner and laughing partner. Just remembering some of the silly things she did or we did together puts a smile on my face right now. Of course, Connie was in cahoots with us a lot of the time.T hank God for wonderful memories,I will rely on them and the Lord to help on the very difficult days and I hope you all do too. You can all be proud of the life she led and you will continue to honor her as you follow her example. Love, AMANDA

I haven't had contact with Carmen for many years.  But I grew up in the church she attended and am friends with her son David.  When I hear Carmens name I always think of one memory I have of her.

It was when she went to the Canary Islands with our youth group for a missions trip.  I was got seriously sick while at the canary islands.  It was late one night and my body was using all my energy to fight an infection from my appendics and I could not move or talk but was crying furiously. A couple of the boys awoke and when and got the youth pastor and Carmen.  She skillfully begin to take care of me and bring my feavor down to where I could begin to move and speak.  To make a long story short.  I had my appendics out in the Canary Islands and I believe that God wanted Carmen on the trip so that she could take care of me.

I read what David had to say about his mom and David I would have to agree.  For about a week I expeirenced what you have experienced your whole life, her motherly love and concern for my well being.

She made a difference in a my life fifteen years ago.  When I was a sick frieghtened boy.  That memory still live strong with in my mind today.  Carmen will be missed.

I am very sorry for your families loss. I am going through the same grief as your family. I lost my father in December of 2004 at the age of 59. There really are no words that can ease your pain, but as Mrs. Anderson's son said this is not good-bye. We will miss them, but will see them again.

The Memorial is a beautiful tribute to such a wonderful and loving person. We are so fortunate to have known and to have spent some wonderful & fun moments with Carmen and Harry.  We have seen these two wonder people show their love for each other, and how happy they both were.  She will be forever be remembered in every waterfall, every rainbow  and in everything that will make us laugh or cry.  We are so very lucky to have had Carmen in our lives.  Thank you for such a wonderful friend.
